Kondus valley

Kondus valley located the Ghanche province northern area Baltistan Pakistan. The valley followed two boundaries China north side and India east side. The valley current population is approximately 6500 peoples. There is also Lachit valley which is some parts with Siachen Glaicer. 

Kondus valley have numerous rock and ice coverd peaks to climb like Saltoro Kangri (7740m) Sherpi Kangri (7100m) Linksar (7041m) K6 (7281m) K7 (6934m) Chogolisa I-II 7654m and many more unclimbed peaks.

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Upon arrival in Leh, the gateway to the enchanting Ladakh region, participants will be greeted by our expedition leaders. After a brief orientation, we’ll check into our accommodations to acclimatize to the high altitude. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the local surroundings and prepare for the upcoming adventure.

Day 2: Leh Acclimatization and Cultural Exploration

Today is dedicated to acclimatization, crucial for a successful expedition. We’ll embark on a guided tour of Leh, visiting monasteries and immersing ourselves in the unique Ladakhi culture. The day ends with a thorough briefing on the Kondus Valley trek, ensuring everyone is well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

Day 3: Drive to Chilling and Trek to Skiu

Our journey begins with a scenic drive to Chilling, the starting point of our trek. From Chilling, we’ll trek to Skiu, passing through picturesque landscapes and charming villages. The trek is a perfect introduction to the stunning beauty of the Kondus Valley.

Day 4: Skiu to Markha

Traversing through the Markha Valley, we’ll witness breathtaking views of the Himalayan range. En route, we’ll encounter the unique wildlife and nomadic communities that call this region home. Markha village will be our resting place for the night.

Day 5: Markha to Thachungtse

As we ascend further into the Kondus Valley, the terrain becomes more challenging. Crossing rivers and navigating diverse landscapes, we’ll reach Thachungtse, a high-altitude campsite offering panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 6: Thachungtse to Nimaling

The trek continues to Nimaling, the summer grazing grounds for local shepherds. This vast plateau is surrounded by towering peaks, creating a surreal backdrop for our campsite. Participants can take in the breathtaking scenery and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Day 7: Nimaling to Kongmaru La and Shang Sumdo

A challenging yet rewarding day awaits as we ascend to Kongmaru La, the highest point of our expedition. The panoramic views from the pass are unparalleled, showcasing the rugged beauty of the Ladakh region. Descending to Shang Sumdo, we’ll camp for the night.

Day 8: Shang Sumdo to Leh

Our final day of trekking takes us back to Shang Sumdo, where transportation will be waiting to return us to Leh. Participants can unwind and celebrate the successful completion of the Kondus Valley Expedition.

Day 9: Departure from Leh

After a memorable adventure in the Kondus Valley, participants will bid farewell to Leh, carrying with them the indelible memories of this extraordinary journey organized by 5 Peaks Expedition.

  • EPI Gas, Ropes, Ice screws, snow bar, cooking pots beyond base camp.
  • RECOMMENDATION:- We recommend our clients to deposit helicopter rescue aviation deposit in advance $5000/- the entire money is refundable if not use. In case any emergency happen on remote mountain range then we fly helicopter on time to save life.
  • TRAVEL INSURANCE:- It is a strongly recommend that while booking treks and tours with us that travelers/trekkers must be protected by insurance themselves that covers cancellation, accidents, health, emergency evacuation, and loss of items, or damage to baggage and personal effects.
